Xi Lambda Lambda contestant wins 1st Place in semi-classical instrument category

Dover, DE (Apr 27, 2019) -This year's Talent Hunt event was held at the MLK Student Center on the campus of Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware. The Talent Hunt is a mandated program and was part of the Omega Psi Phi  Fraternity, Inc. 71st Second District Conference activities.

Mr. Craig Murray, who is a student at Horace Mann HS, won 1st place in the semi-classical instrumental category.  This was a feat that was also the 1st prize winner at Xi Lambda Lambda's 2019 Talent Hunt program held at at the Sullivan Theater on the campus of St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) for his rendition of the classical piano piece of Chopin.

Also, kudos to Bro. Dennis McGloster and his team who put in many hours to make the Talent Hunt the success that it is every year.  Dennis is also at the District venues to help the contestant and their  parent(s) with transportation and hotel accommodations as well as assist in rehearsals.

Again, congratulations to Mr. Craig Murray - we expect to see you at Carnegie Hall in the near future.

Gerald H. Inman, Sr. Day


Pomona, NY (Feb 27, 2019) -  Bro. Gerald H. Inman, Sr. was presented with a proclamation from the chairman of the Rockland County legislature, Bro. Toney Earl, and Ms. Constance Frasier, Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission, for the work he had done in the Rockland County community.

Spring Valley, NY (Feb 26, 2019) - Brother Dennis V. McGloster was recognized and presented with the Dr. Edmund W. Gordon and Dr. Susan G. Gordon Community Service Award.  The event took place at the Spring Valley High School African American History Month Celebration Program. This award is sponsored by the CEJJES Institute and is presented to both a student and an adult for the contributions that they make to the Rockland County community.

Bro. McGloster is one of those brothers that works hard for Omega and equally hard for his community and is well deserving of this award.

Congratulations Brother McGloster!  Omega continues to lead the charge.

2019 XLL Talent Hunt Winner Mr. Graig Murray


Sparkill, NY (Feb 23, 2019) –The Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter (Rockland Ques) held its annual Talent Hunt Competition on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Sullivan Theater on the campus of St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC).  As always, the talent was very good and very competitive.  There
 Was a versatility of performers this year from drummers to classical pianists, to dancers and vocalists.

 Our 1st place winner was Mr. Craig Murray (Horace Mann HS) for his classical piano playing of Chopin. In addition to winning a beautiful engraved trophy he will receive a check in the amount of $500 and will represent Xi Lambda Lambda chapter at the Second District Conference Talent Hunt Competition on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Delaware Hotel and Casino in Dover, Delaware. Second place went to Ms. Pauline Regalado (Ramapo HS) for dance (and Regalado was our winner last year) and Ms. Kimberly Martinez (Ramapo HS) was our 3rd Place winner for her classical tune on the flute.

We would also like to thank our judges; Ms. Danelle Greene (Orangetown Schools Music teacher) Ms. Margaret Allen (owner and teacher at Allen Music School) and, Bro. Richard Clarke (formerly a jazz pianist who attended the famed Music & Art High School in NYC).
