MLK Celebration at Ramapo High School

Spring Valley, NY (Jan. 15, 2018) - The Brothers of Xi Lambda Lambda (Rockland Ques) chapter participated in the Martin Luther King celebration held at the Ramapo High School.  The event had many of Rockland County's organizations in attendance.

The event was sponsored by the East Ramapo Central School District and the Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center.  The theme was "Our Community United in Love, Peace and Justice - Unity Celebration Honoring the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr."

This event allowed Xi Lambda Lambda the opportunity to showcase to the community the many facets of who we are and what we do in the community.  The event was an opportunity to present information about our ROAD Mentoring Program to parents that had young males in either middle or high school.  The information provided was well received.

During his first term as Chair, Earl represented the Legislature at countless community events, and opened the board’s Chambers to welcome and recognize residents for their outstanding contributions, and for additional celebrations of Black History, Irish Heritage, Women’s History, Indian Heritage, and Hispanic Heritage.
During Earl’s tenure, the Legislature supported new contracts for Sheriff’s Deputies; approved funding for nonprofit organizations providing vital health, social and other services; and adopted the 2018 County Budget that makes it possible for county government to serve our residents so well.
