63rd Second District Conference Awards Received

Cherry Hill, NJ - May 3, 2011, The Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter would like to congratulate our Basileus - Bro. T. Ed McBride, who was named the Corridor 5 - Basileus of the Year at the 63rd Second District conference.  The chapter would also like to acknowledge and congratulate our Corridor Representative, Bro. Kevin Woodhouse - for being honored as the Corridor Representative of the Year.  In addition, the Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter would like to acknowledge Bro. Steve Schmidt as a Stand-in for founder, Frank Coleman, the Alpha Upsilon Chapter as the Achievement Week winner, the Sigma Beta Beta Chapter for Chapter of the Year, and to see the Talent Hunt contestants from Alpha Upsilon, Psi Lambda Lambda and Xi Phi Chapters take 1st Place in their respective categories.  We would also like to acknowledge and thank, Brianna Martin and Meagan Washington for representing Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter at the 63rd 2nd District Conference Talent Hunt competition on Saturday, April 30, 2011.



The Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter was the first recipient of the Rudolph W. Powell Creativity Award for Retention at the 63rd Second District conference.  The purpose of the award is to recognize those chapters that have created "substantive programs" that have a practical importance, value or effect upon the individual financial members of the chapter or their family members.  Initiated in January 2008, the Xi Lambda Lambda Book Award is held in honor of the Fraternity's mandated program of scholarship.  All chapter brothers that have been financial with the chapter for the current and previous year, and have a child that is graduating from high school will be granted with a $250 book award.  The award may be used for a four-year college, community college, technical or vocational school.   This scholarship program is intended to promote academic excellence among family members of Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter.  In the near future, the Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter will conduct an annual scholarship luncheon to provide financial assistance to deserving seniors from each of the local high schools in Rockland County, New York.  Students will be selected for their academic achievement and extracurricular activities.
